Terbinafine creams are medications used to treat fungal infections. Terbinafine is an antifungal medication, and destroys fungi responsible for causing infections such as ringworm in the groin, skin, feet, toes and fingernails.

How Does Terbinafine Cream Work?
Terbinafine hydrochloride is the active ingredient in this cream and is an antifungal medication. It causes holes in the fungal cell membranes to develop which kills the fungi causing the infection.

The fungi cell membranes are important for their survival. They stop the cells’ contents from leaking out and keep unwanted substances from invading the cells. By causing the holes to show up in the cell membranes, Terbinafine clears the infection as it kills the fungi.

How Do I Use Terbinafine Cream?
Clean the affected skin area and dry it thoroughly before you apply the cream. Rub the cream into your skin and then wash your hands so you don’t spread the infection to other body areas or to other people. Avoid getting any of the cream in your mouth, eyes or nose. Using water, rinse it out thoroughly if you do get it in any of these areas accidentally.
