Obifen for children is an oral suspension for babies and children from 6 months formulated to relieve pain and fever.
It contains Ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent that possesses analgesic and antipyretic activities. Ibuprofen is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and peak plasma concentrations occur about 1 – 2 hours after ingestion. Ibuprofen is 90 – 99% bound to plasma protein and has a plasma half-life of about 2 hours. It is rapidly metabolized and is excreted in the urine mainly as metabolites and their conjugates.
