To so many people, their skin is just another covering, so they are careless about it, whether it get burnt or
not, sun damaged or black spots ,they are not bothered. But you see in this post, I have taken it upon myself to let you know how
well your skin can be properly cared for by using vitamin C, so that you don’t have to start treating something you could
have prevented. Taking care of your skin could really be cheaper than you thought.
Ever heard of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which is an essential vitamin in the body? Interestingly, Big C
vitamin C is composed of 1000mg of vitamin C plus 50mg of zinc with some other ingredients like rutin,
acerola, rose hips, quercetin dihydrate and so on; all in one way or another enriching your skin and your
body system generally.

Big C vitamin C has a very high antioxidant property and also play role in collagen synthesis, thus making
Big C vitamin C a vital molecule for the overall skin health.
Vitamin C is present in the skin in high levels both in the dermis and epidermis layers of the skin. Aging is
one factor that causes decline in vitamin C content in both the epidermis and dermis layers of the
skin(and you can’t do anything about that right?) Exposure to Ultraviolet light, pollutants ( cigarettes
smoke and ozone) may also lower vitamin C content primarily in the epidermis layer of the skin.
How it Works on the Skin

 Photodamage / Wrinkling
Photodamage ( photoaging) causes the accumulation of oxidative damage to proteins which can lead to
changes in the structure of the skin. Big C vitamin C helps to regulate the synthesis of structural protein
collagen, vitamin C play an important role in the hydroxylation of collagen for its extracellular stability
and support of the epidermis. Big C vitamin C has been shown to stabilize collagen mRNA, thereby
increasing collagen protein synthesis for repair of damaged skin. Big C vitamin C enhances the rate of
proliferation of fibroblasts (which decreases with age).

 Wound Healing
As humans, it is very rare not be injured one way or another, though we all pray against accidents and
injuries. Meanwhile, in cases of such, studies have shown that vitamin C deficiency results in poor
wound healing and vitamin C supplementation in deficient individuals shows significant benefits. In fact,
vitamin C is included in oral therapies for pressure ulcers (bed sores)and burns, along with vitamin E and
Zinc(which is also part of Big C ).

 Dry Skin
Regular intake of vitamin C have been linked with a decreased risk of dry skin, thus proving that vitamin
C have effects on trans-epidermal water loss(TEWL).

 Photoprotection
The damage induced by Ultraviolet light exposure is limited by vitamin C. Vitamin C is not a sunscreen
because it does not absorb light in the UVA or UVB spectrum, rather the antioxidant activity of vitamin C
protects against UV- induced damage which is caused by free radicals. UV light decrease vitamin C
content of skin (depending on the intensity and duration of UV exposure) there is therefore need for
vitamin C intake for adequate protection against UV- light.

In Conclusion
Vitamin C deficiency is a condition known as Scurvy symptoms appears once plasma concentration of
ascorbic acid (vitamin C) drop below 10micromolar, a level that can be prevented by consuming as little
as 10mg of vitamin C daily.
Cutaneous manifestation of scurvy result from decline in collagen synthesis, leading to disruption of
connective tissue and fragility of blood vessels, poor wound healing as Scurvy progresses, because there
is loss of mature collagen thus leaving wounds opened. Skin lesions caused by inadequate vitamin C are
remediated by an adequate intake of Big C vitamin C.
Your skin can get that fine touch, smooth feel again, vitamin C can help your skin to be radiant and
glowing, repair and readjust the skin to a healthy and beautiful skin. Big C vitamin C is available for you
